What the appointment is actually for
This is not a formality after the paperwork — it is where your identity and your original documents are checked against everything you have submitted, and where the fee is paid.
Three things happen in this appointment, and all three require you in person:
- Biometrics — your fingerprints and a photo are captured.
- Original document verification — you bring the originals of what you already submitted as copies, and they are checked against the file.

A second appointment people forget to book
If your proof of funds is a blocked account, its signature has to be attested by the embassy or consulate before the account counts as valid — and that attestation is booked as a separate online appointment from the visa submission appointment. The mission states this explicitly: you have to book them separately. Do this well before your visa appointment date, not on the same trip assuming it can be combined.
What to bring
- Your original passport — kept with you throughout the process, not submitted earlier.
- Original versions of every document you submitted as a copy — degree certificates, transcripts, attestation stamps, admission letter, the lot.
- The visa fee, in exact payment where cash is required — €75 (roughly PKR 24,000; €37.50 for minors). Confirm the accepted payment method and exact amount for your specific mission before you go.
- The blocked-account attestation fee, if that appointment falls on the same visit — a separate, smaller amount (around €25 / PKR 5,400).
After the appointment
Processing typically takes 4 to 10 weeks from a complete application — Karachi has tended to run slightly faster than Islamabad, but treat both as a range rather than a promise. You will be notified of the decision by email, the same channel that has carried every other update in this process, so keep checking it — and its spam folder — after the appointment as well as before it.
