Question 1 of 7

Your CGPA?

German universities use a 1.0–5.0 grading scale, where 1.0 is the best grade and 4.0 is the minimum pass. If you studied outside Germany, your CGPA must be converted to this scale before your application is evaluated. Most universities and uni-assist do this with the modified Bavarian formula.

The Formula
German Grade = 1 + 3 × (Nmax − Nd) / (Nmax − Nmin)

On the 4.0 scale.
1.0 is best, 4.0 the lowest pass.

IELTS

Most English-taught Master’s programs in Germany require proof of English proficiency, and IELTS is the most widely accepted test. The usual requirement is an overall band of 6.5, often with no section below 6.0, though competitive programs can ask for 7.0.

Not required.
No score entered, so the English requirement will not be checked.
